Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Exercise Snacks ("we", "our", or "us") handles your information when you use our iOS app. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

1. Information We Collect

Exercise Snacks is designed to work primarily offline. We do not collect, store, or transmit personal data to our own servers. Specifically:

  • All app data is stored locally on your device using Apple's built-in storage (AsyncStorage). This includes your exercise history, progress, streak data, and settings.
  • We do not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, or any other personal information to use the app.

2. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services which may collect data in accordance with their own privacy policies:

RevenueCat Used to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. When you make a purchase, RevenueCat processes transaction data on your behalf. No purchase is processed by us directly. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Google Firebase Analytics We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymised, aggregated usage data — such as which features are used and how often. This helps us improve the app. No personally identifiable information is sent. Firebase is operated by Google LLC; their privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

All payment transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple's privacy policy applies to those transactions.

3. Apple Health Integration

With your permission, Exercise Snacks can write workout data to Apple Health. Specifically:

  • When you complete an exercise, the app saves a workout entry (type, start time, duration, and estimated calories burned) to Apple Health on your device.
  • We do not read any data from Apple Health.
  • Health data is stored only on your device within Apple Health. We do not transmit it to our servers or any third party.
  • You can revoke this permission at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Exercise Snacks.

4. Push Notifications

If you enable exercise reminders, the app uses Apple's notification system to send local notifications. These are generated entirely on your device — no data is sent to our servers in order to deliver them.

5. Analytics and Tracking

We use Firebase Analytics (see Section 2) to collect anonymised usage data for the purpose of improving the app. We do not use advertising SDKs, we do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell your data to any third party.

6. Children's Privacy

Exercise Snacks is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

7. Your Rights (UK & EU Users)

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Because we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is typically no data held by us to act upon. If you have questions about this, please contact us.

8. Data Retention

All data is stored locally on your device. You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app. We retain no data on our end.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
